Is CA banning big screen TVs? Industry groups say yes!
The California Energy Commission is proposing energy efficiency standards for new televisions offered for sale in California beginning in 2011 and 2013. The standards would improve the energy efficiency of televisions without affecting the quality of the television.
The above is from the CEC website. There are no plans to ban any TVs and the CEC says that consumers more efficient home appliances including televisions.
That announcement in April is prompting opponents to demonstrate the widespread opposition to the California Energy Commission's (CEC) unnecessary and job-killing proposal to set arbitrary limits on television electricity usage.
